I was born and raised in the southern part of the Netherlands between the German and Belgium border. I moved to Bonaire (a Dutch Island in the Caribbean) in December 2000. Then I moved to Higgins Lake in Michigan in 2014.
I work mostly with handmade and tissue paper. Sometimes I create an acrylic or watercolor underpainting first as a guideline. After that I start ripping and gluing papers. Lately on canvas, but also on wood or watercolor paper.
Because I was 14 years in the Caribbean my art is very colorful. I love nature and animals a lot. This also shows in everything I create.
Some of my other interests are: my dog Shep, photography, mosaics, gardening, hiking and woodcarving. Sometimes I volunteer at the ARK animal rescue center. I probably forgot a few :-).
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy creating it. Thank you for supporting my creative journey.
Part of the sales will be used to help animals in need,
Have a peaceful day! Evelyne Van De Poel
