Jeff Budge is a northern Michigan artist from West Branch. He recently retired as a secondary school principal after thirty-six years. He has melded his life-long passion for fly fishing with his talents as a painter specializing in trout and fly fishing images on various mediums.
Jeff and his wife Dawn hunt the flea markets and resale shops for used furniture and unique wall hangings. He repurposes all of his tables and picture frames by carefully sanding, sometimes staining, and then transforming them into one-of-a-kind works of art. Each piece of furniture is sealed with numerous coats of polyurethane that will last for years and years.
Now that he is retired from education (he still works with student teachers as an adjunct faculty member at Saginaw Valley State University) he is devoting a great deal of his time to his art.
You can see and purchase his works at the Artisan Village in Grayling, at various art shows throughout the state and by contacting him directly for custom pieces that will enhance your room with the mystique of fly fishing.
