Linda pursued social work as her avocation and her career. She earned a Bachelor’s degree at Goddard College in Montpelier, VT and a Master’s degree at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
Linda worked with young children and families for 30 years. She integrated expressive art in her work whenever possible and culminated her career as an Expressive Arts Facilitator working with both children and adults in a clinical setting.
Linda currently lives in Grayling, MI. She has also lived in the Southwest, Hawaii, and has traveled much of Mexico.
I am primarily a collage artist and work with mixed media. Along with traditional media such as paint, I love to incorporate fabric, papers, ephemera and re-purpose a variety of materials.
Artwork of Linda KaneColor, texture and patterns stimulate my sense of dimension and composition. Formally, I studied plasticine sculpture, drawing, graphics, wood block printing, etching, and solar plate etching. Photography has always been an active hobby.
I make art to express myself. “Art as Process” vs. “Art as Product” has guided my work with children and adults. The fun of making Process Art continues to direct my flow of creative energy. Belief and faith in the individuality of my work makes my pieces personal.
Thank you for your interest in my art making process
